Community Calendar How do I get my event listed on the Community Calendar? To air an announcement
on the Community Calendar, information must be submitted in typewritten
form at least four weeks prior to the event. All announcements
must be non-commercial and no political endorsements are allowed or accepted. Please include contact names and contact telephone numbers with the information you submit. No commercial messages and no political endorsements will be allowed or accepted. Although we do not guarantee that the information will be posted, we make every
effort to post all of the events we receive.
Community Television Community television is a free service offered by Time Warner Cable allowing a citizen or an organization to produce community television programming.
Who can produce a Community Television program? Any individual
or group who resides in the San Antonio Time Warner Cable service area
can be the producer of a community program. The channel and studio time,
equipment and technical assistance are provided on a first-come, first-served,
non-discriminatory basis.
What type of program is allowed to air on Community Television? A wide variety
of programs air on the Community Programming Channels including: arts,
music, cultural events, comedy, Fiesta events, children's programs, religious
and educational programs, training and documentaries, interview shows
-- and much more!!
What facilities and assistance does Time Warner Cable provide for Community Television? In addition to the channel time, Time
Warner Cable provides TV studios, portable camera packages, editing rooms, and technical training.
How do I get started with Community Television? First, have your
program idea ready. Second, stop by the Time Warner Cable Studios at 8434
Gault Lane in San Antonio to pick up an orientation package. The package
outlines the policies, procedures, and basic information needed to begin
your production. After reading and completing the necessary paperwork
in the orientation package, each "producer" is assigned a coordinator who will provide the producer with individualized tutoring and hands-on training
on cameras and editing equipment. The assigned coordinator will
continue the training at a pace and scope required by the project.
